Embracing Wildness and Balance

I possess the capacity to think and feel with unrestrained wildness, allowing myself the freedom to venture wherever I please. My consciousness encompasses every thought and emotion. When one achieves balance, they can accomplish anything in life. This process can be internalized by practicing it just before sleep; it’s a straightforward method to create a small measure of separation.

Starting the Day Right

Starting my day correctly, attending to my body, and engaging in meaningful conversations condition me to handle whatever may come. I lead a life devoid of strict discipline, never certain where I’ll sleep or wake. Staying in the same place for two nights is a rare luxury. My days typically extend to 18 or 20 hours, and though I attempt to decelerate, the pace only accelerates.

Autonomy Over Inner World

I am the sole architect of my inner world; no one can frustrate, anger, or dishearten me. I am undisturbed if roused at 2 a.m. with a query. From an early age, I resolved never to apply for a job, attend an interview, or consider conventional employment. My family is often worried about my livelihood. I reassured them that if all else failed, I would retreat to the jungles of Southern India, where I had learned survival skills. In solitude, I would thrive, not perish.

Perspective on Challenges

Activity, people, and challenges do not perturb me fundamentally. I’ve been doing yoga for 35 years. I only see them as things that help or hurt my work. My life can’t be made or broken by anyone or anything; I have full control over my thoughts and feelings. Accepting that my thoughts and feelings are wild, I go through life on my own terms, but nothing happens.

The Importance of Balance

Maintaining sharp attention both internally and externally negates the struggle against disturbances. Inner balance is paramount. Intelligence, genius, talent, and wealth all falter without balance. These assets can turn against you in its absence. Relationships, intelligence, and wealth will become adversaries. Therefore, balance is crucial. Well-balanced individuals can fully express their intelligence, capabilities, and talents.

Conclusion

Balance is the key to achieving all within your power. If you lack balance, even your potential accomplishments will remain unfulfilled. Not achieving the impossible is no failure, but failing to accomplish the possible is a disaster. It is my hope and blessing that you avoid such a fate. Adopting a simple practice, known as Isaka, for 12 to 15 minutes daily can help you establish a slight detachment from your body and psychological processes, especially before sleep.
